Creative Capacity Audit

An applied investigation inside your organisation. We assess whether the conditions for creative work are being sustained or eroded, identify where the structural pressures sit, and find where the highest-leverage changes are.

The audit uses the Dispatch analytical framework: the same integration of systems thinking, creativity science, and conditions research that drives our editorial investigations, applied at organisational scale. We look at time pressure and creative development time, economic stability, autonomy, the safety to take risks, knowledge transmission between people at different career stages, and pipeline health.

What the audit produces

Every audit produces two things:

A structural diagnosis. Where conditions for creative work hold and where they erode. What dynamics are driving the pressure. Where intervention would shift outcomes and where it would get absorbed. This is grounded in evidence from inside your organisation, tested against the framework, and presented with clarity.

A media output. The diagnosis informs the messaging. The media brings it to life. Positioning, thought leadership, internal communications, recruitment content, short films about creative culture, podcast episodes, campaign material. The structural understanding shapes what gets said. The editorial capability shapes how it lands.

One engagement. Two outcomes. The diagnosis tells you what's happening. The media helps you act on it.

Who it's for

Agencies, production companies, brands with creative teams, cultural institutions, sector bodies. Any organisation where creative work is central to what you do and where you want to understand whether the conditions for that work are holding.

The audit is particularly valuable at inflection points. A shift in leadership, a restructure, a period of rapid growth, the integration of AI tools, a sense that something has changed in how the work feels. These are the moments when structural understanding makes the difference between responding to symptoms and addressing what's driving them.

How it works

We start with a conversation about what you're seeing and what questions matter. We design the audit around your context. The investigation draws on interviews with people across your organisation, analysis of how work flows and where it gets compressed, and assessment against the conditions framework.

The process is collaborative throughout. We share what we're finding as we go. The final output is shaped by what the evidence shows and by how it can be most useful to you.

How it feeds the bigger picture

Every audit generates evidence about how conditions operate inside organisations. This is data no policy document captures and no sector survey reaches. Each engagement deepens the broader investigation into how creative work functions across the UK.

Client confidentiality is respected. What feeds the framework is structural intelligence about patterns and dynamics, not the specifics of any individual organisation.
